Guatemala, Here I Come!

My flight leaves in 3 hours and I couldn't be more excited!  I've spent so much time talking to God about this trip!  I know it's going to be incredible! Thank you all for your prayers!!!  Just a few changes from my last post.  I'm actually going to be meeting my team at the airport in Dallas and will be flying to Guatemala with them!!  Prayers for smooth and safe travels would still be much appreciated!!


Ephesians 3:20-22

Thank You's and Updates


Dear Friends and Family,

I wanted to send you a message to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my mission trip to Guatemala this summer. I also wanted to give you an update on how my team has been preparing and what God has been doing in my life this summer so far!   My team has raised all the support we need through selling cookie dough, sending out support letters, selling suckers, and working a spaghetti dinner!  We have also been meeting for prayer and devotions, learning songs, having drama practices, fasting and praying together, doing paperwork, and writing our testimonies in preparation for this trip.  Just writing about it makes me shake with excitement in anticipation of the incredible things God is going to do on this trip and the lives that will be changed. This is all made possible through your support, especially through prayer!   
So far this summer God has provided me with two very exciting opportunities that relate to missions!  The first was through my school, Judson University.  I received a scholarship to attend the International Ministries World Mission Conference, which I accepted.  It was an incredible experience.  I got to meet dozens on missionaries from all over the world who work in all different types of ministry. All of them have an incredible story of how God brought them to those places.  I learned a lot about the process of becoming a missionary and all the things that that entails, which was more than I had previously thought!  We spent time in worship sessions praising God in all different languages, hearing stories from missionaries, and exploring Scripture to learn more about a call to missions.   
The other opportunity I’ve had is getting a job as an intern with the Missions Department at Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City!  I am learning a lot about what a missions pastor does. I have been helping with many events, including VBS. Currently, I am helping with Sports Camp, a ministry for inner city kids at a downtown school as part of their local ministry. I’m also writing children’s ministry curriculum to teach kids in the church about missions and how they can be missionaries, ect.  I will be working here until August 15th.        
This summer has already been incredible and I haven’t even been to Guatemala yet! =) Through these two opportunities and more, God has been confirming my call and growing my relationship with Him.  I would greatly appreciate it if you would pray for these things as I continue to follow my calling and prepare for my trip to Guatemala:

·      Safety during travel and while in country.  I will be flying to Guatemala by myself and arriving an hour before my team.
·      No problems getting through customs by myself.
·      Health- Pray that no one gets sick!
·      Ministry: We will be in orphanages, school assemblies, and churches giving testimonies, performing dramas, singing worship songs, etc.
·      Team members-pray for each team member, that God would work in and through them.
